For over 95 years, The Ghan has been travelling through Australia’s Red Centre sharing people, places and culture along the way. It’s a testament to Australia’s pioneering and adventurous spirit, as well as our unique flair of friendly hospitality.
Visit The Ghan Experience and see what it’s like travelling from the Top End through the Red Centre, visiting Nitmiluk Gorge, Alice Springs, Coober Pedy and more on this fully immersive and sensory experience.
As you step inside, you’ll be whisked away to the majestic Top End and the Red Centre of Australia. Be immersed in the sights, sounds, textures and scents of the Northern Territory and the Australian outback, and experience the thrill of what it’s like to embark on an iconic adventure onboard The Ghan.

GETTING THERE
Start from Flinders Street Station: Head towards the Sandridge Bridge, the pedestrian bridge crossing the Yarra River.
Cross the Sandridge Bridge: Walk across the bridge towards Southbank. You’ll spot Queensbridge Square as you reach the Southbank side.
Look for Queensbridge Square: It’s positioned along the Southbank Promenade, overlooking the Yarra River.
Key landmarks nearby:
- To your left as you approach: The Eureka Tower (Melbourne Skydeck).
- To your right: The intersection of Queensbridge Street and Southbank Boulevard.
Walking from Crown Towers: Walk north along Queensbridge Street, past Southbank Boulevard, and you’ll find the square on your right.
