Enjoy a guided coach tour through the scenic town of Halls Gap, positioned in the Grampians National Park and a great base from which to explore this spectacular corner of Australia. From Halls Gap, continue to Boroka Lookout to gaze across panoramic vistas over the east of the Grampians and over the town of Halls Gap.

It’s a short five minute walk to two viewing platforms and from here, you’ll also be able to spot nearby Lake Bellfield. Take in the breathtaking views in the late afternoon sunlight before returning to the train for a late supper.

This experience is ideal for guests who would like a leisurely taste of the Grampians’ beauty and delightful Halls Gap.

VENUS BATHS WALK

This Off Train Experience takes you into the Grampians town of Halls Gap, where you’ll meet an experienced guide, ready to impart their knowledge of this spectacular Gariwerd region.

From here, set out on the Venus Baths Loop Walk – a relaxed 2.5 kilometre walk that crosses over Stony Creek and immerses walkers in the peace and tranquillity of Mother Nature. Even in the summer months, there is water in the deeper rock pools.

Tour duration (including travel time) is approximately 2.5 hours.

Recommended Fitness Level: Moderate – walking tour is 1.5 hours on bush walking paths, some uneven ground and large steps.

PLEASE NOTE: It is highly recommended to bring comfortable walking shoes, hat, sunscreen and insect repellent. The Grampians can also be extremely hot in summer.

 

POMONAL ESTATE SIPS AND SIGHTS

Nestled at the base of the Grampians National Park a warm and inviting welcome awaits you at Pomonal Estate cellar door. This family run establishment by Adam and Pep, produces award-winning wines, microbrews, and ciders.

Take a seat at the beautifully crafted gum bar made from redgum posts from the old Seppelts Great Western train station and sample a beautiful regional wine or a delicious range of small batch, locally crafted beers, and cider while you enjoy a local cheese and fruit platter. You’re sure to find something to savour while enjoying the picturesque views.

FALLEN GIANTS EPICUREAN EXPERIENCE

Building the legacy of Australia’s great wine regions, Fallen Giants Vineyard rests on the steep Eastern slopes of the Grampians. The family-owned vineyard, founded in 1969, has farmed organically since 2018 and is certified organic with NASAA (National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia) – likely the first in the Grampians to be so.

Here, you will be greeted by the friendly Fallen Giants team, be introduced to the site’s 50-year history of wine making, and experience a full wine-tasting, inclusive of Rose, Riesling, Premium Shiraz, Estate Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon, accompanied by fresh local produce platters.
